Gregg T. Abella, AIF®
Gregg T. Abella, is the Chief Executive Officer and a Portfolio Manager at Investment Partners Asset Management.
After graduating from Bowdoin College in 1992 with degrees in both Economics and Spanish, he began his professional career at Chubb & Son in the International Division of the Surety Credit Department handling Latin America and Europe. Gregg subsequently held a number of positions with Chubb, ultimately establishing and managing the Guaranty Department for its subsidiary, Chubb do Brasil, in São Paulo, Brazil. His multinational experience and credit analysis skills bring a unique global perspective to the firm's clients.
Gregg has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional designation from Fiduciary 360 and has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility.
Additionally, Gregg is an avid fly-fisherman, enjoys classic rock music, and is a fan of college hockey. He joined Investment Partners in 1998.
Frank J. Abella III
Frank J. Abella III ("Jay"), is the Senior Vice President of Research and a Portfolio Manager at Investment Partners Asset Management.
Jay graduated from Middlebury College in 1989 with a degree in Biochemistry. In 1994, he earned an advanced degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina.
During his tenure at Investment Partners, Jay has provided research, portfolio management, valuation, and analytical advice to private clients, funds and businesses. He has performed extensive “hands on” diligence in nearly every area of North American industry, with a subconcentration in Canadian equities. He also specializes in formulating total return strategies, with special emphasis on income generation.
Additionally, Jay enjoys salt-water fishing, and is a fan of professional hockey. He joined Investment Partners in 1998.
Frank J. Abella, Jr.
Frank J. Abella, Jr., is Executive Chairman of Investment Partners Group overseeing the management team's advisory and consulting operations. He is also a Portfolio Manager at Investment Partners Asset Management.
With ME and MS degrees in engineering and science from Stevens Institute of Technology, Frank began his professional career as a development engineer with the Linde Division of Union Carbide. He left to pursue his MBA at the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Upon graduation he returned to Linde as a strategist on their Multinational Strategic Planning staff.
In 1969 he entered the investment community as a portfolio manager. Through the 1980s and early 1990s he oversaw a number of venture-capital and business-development efforts. In, 1995 he formed Investment Partners Asset Management.
Frank is a past member of the North American Society for Corporate Planning and the Board of Emerging Company Marketplace of the American Stock Exchange. Additionally, he is a die-hard fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants.
Thomas W. Shepherd
Thomas W. Shepherd is a Senior Vice President of Investment Partners Asset Management. Among other things, Tom is engaged in the firm's utilization of software and data services to create integrated investment plans. He also oversees Investment Partners' relationships with our key institutional partners.
Tom graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Math and Spanish. He developed his financial expertise during a 20-year career at JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA in Manhattan, where he provided a wide range of banking and credit services as a manager in the bank’s middle-market sector.
Tom earned his MBA at the NYU Stern School of Business in 2001 and joined the Investment Partners Asset Management Team in June of 2008.
Brian Brown
Brian Brown is the Chief Data Analytics Officer and Operations Manager of Investment Partners Asset Management.
Brian graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Economics. With a background in engineering and mathematics, he couples investment industry experience with mathematical principles to design and implement relational databases for various needs at Investment Partners.
In addition, Brian also applies his skill sets to developing modules for special situation analysis of securities as well as portfolio assessment.
Additionally, Brian is a life-long baseball fan, and enjoys woodworking, and gardening. He joined Investment Partners in 2002.
